For Skills Bootcamp providers

Always human.

On-demand, personalised mental health support for your learners

We've built what makes it possible.

Wobble gives your learners on-demand support from qualified therapists. A learner writes in and gets a short personal video back, usually within hours, with no appointments.

Watch first.

Captions are built in, so it works with the sound off too.

How it works.

They write down what's going on, in their own words, and a personal video comes back within hours. No appointment, nothing to commit to, and nothing to say out loud to a stranger.

Enhancing Learner Retention and Outcomes through Wobble

At Study Academy, delivering high-quality Skills Bootcamps under the Greater London Authority (GLA) Wave 6 programme requires more than technical training alone. It requires robust pastoral care, strong learner support, and clear, evidenced impact against funding milestones.

To strengthen our learner support model, we introduced Wobble, an on-demand platform providing access to qualified therapists and wellbeing professionals.

As part of our delivery approach, 100% of learners were given access to Wobble, ensuring that all individuals, including those requiring reasonable adjustments, could benefit from structured mental health and wellbeing support.

The results were significant:

  • 92% of learners stated that Wobble helped them build confidence and develop the skills to reduce anxiety and support their personal mental health to complete the course
  • Learners reported feeling less overwhelmed and more able to engage consistently with their learning
  • We achieved over 88% progression through Milestone 1 and 2
  • The approach was praised by the GLA and Department for Education for the strength of pastoral care and learner support

Crucially, this level of support directly contributed to our ability to meet contractual performance expectations. Without Wobble, we are confident that learner drop-off would have been significantly higher.

Beyond the data, Wobble enabled us to create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring learners could remain engaged, complete their training, and progress into outcomes.

In a funding model where retention, completion, and progression are critical, Wobble has become an essential component of our delivery strategy.

Every learner who drops out is lost income.

Skills Bootcamps are paid on milestones: a payment when a learner starts, another when they complete, and another when they reach an outcome. A learner who leaves mid-course takes the later payments with them, and with 2026-27 budgets cut by 20% or more in at least 19 areas, providers feel every one. Study Academy found that roughly a third of their bootcamp learners had anxiety, neurodivergence or mental health issues that put them at risk of dropping out.

More than half of UK adults with a common mental health condition receive no treatment at all. Most support asks too much of people in the moment, so it goes unused. (NHS England, APMS 2023/24)

You already offer pastoral support. Is it there in the moment?

Pastoral support usually means a tutor, a booking or a form, and the learners most at risk of dropping out are often the least likely to take that step. Wobble sits alongside the support you already have rather than replacing any aspect of it.

Most support sits behind a step: a phone number, a scheduling link, a form. It works for the people who reach for it.

In the moment, most people will not.

By the time someone books support or reaches crisis, the moment has passed and the cost has already landed.

It shows up as absence, attrition and quiet underperformance.

How a Wobble works.

Low effort to ask, a genuinely human response back. No friction, nothing new to learn.

  1. Describe what's going on

A few simple questions answered in their own words, in writing, with a voice note if they want. Two minutes, from their phone. Nothing to book and nobody to face.

  2. Get a personal video back

A qualified therapist records a five-minute video with one practical next step, within hours.

  3. Come back whenever it's needed

Each Wobble is complete in itself. No course to finish, no appointments to keep, nothing to drop out of.

Every Wobble:

The Wobble experience

Interactive demo. Not a video.

Tap through a Wobble yourself, as your learners would see it: answer the questions, send it, and open the therapist's reply. Use the orange button to move on, or tap inside the phone. Three to four minutes.

It reaches the people nothing else does.

Wobble competes with doing nothing, and it wins. It is built for the people who fall through the net, the ones who would never raise their hand.

No barrier to start

No appointment to book, no stigma in a phone call, no diary to clear.

A real human, fast

The thing people actually want when they are struggling, delivered in hours.

One set structure

Every response follows the same structure and is delivered only by trained, qualified therapists.

96%

Every quote is from a real person who received a Wobble since launch. Names removed.

What partners say.

“Without Wobble, we are confident that learner drop-off would have been significantly higher.”
John LovedayCo-founder and Group CEO of Study Academy, one of the UK's leading training providers. Study Academy gave every learner on a government-funded cohort access to Wobble: 92% said it helped them complete their course, and the programme was praised by the GLA and the DfE.
“In my work supporting vulnerable veterans, I've learned that the hardest time is between asking for help and receiving it. Wobble closes that gap with a personal response when it matters most.”

“Our franchisees and their teams spend every day looking after customers. We want them to know that someone is there for them, too.

Wobble helps us offer something every franchise network should be proud to provide: year-round support for its people. By giving our network access to mental health support, we’re making a practical commitment to the people behind our businesses.

Running a business, being part of a busy team and managing life outside work can bring real pressures. People shouldn’t have to face those pressures alone.

We’re proud to make this support part of what it means to belong to The Wheel Specialist network.”

Why now.

From first conversation to live in weeks.

Duty-of-care expectations are rising, people expect support that is instant and human, and most of what is on offer was built for a different era.

Less funding to go round

Skills Bootcamps moved from the Department for Education to DWP in September 2025, and most areas have smaller budgets for 2026-27, so every completion counts.

Paid on results

Start, completion and outcome payments all depend on learners staying the course.

Evidence that stands up

Strong pastoral support gives you evidence of learner engagement and wellbeing for funders and Ofsted.

Nothing to set up for learners

Learners sign up through one private link and use it on their phone, whenever they need it.
