Support that replies within hours

A therapist's reply within hours: how Wobble works and what it costs

Wobble is on-demand mental health support in the UK that replies within hours. You answer seven short questions about what is going on, add more in writing or by voice note if you want, and a qualified, registered UK therapist records you a personal video: what they understood, practical guidance, and one clear next step. No appointment, no waiting list, nothing to commit to. Use it once, or make it a regular check-in. Your first Wobble is £9.99, usually £14.99. Wobble is not a crisis service.

Your first Wobble is £9.99, usually £14.99. A personal video from a qualified UK therapist, usually within hours.

Not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 999 or the Samaritans on 116 123.

How does Wobble work?

You describe what is going on and a therapist records you a video. That is the whole shape of it, and the steps take a few minutes.

  1. Create an account, then answer seven short questions, one at a time: what is on your mind, how it is affecting your day to day, a moment in the last week when it was hardest, what you are avoiding, the thought underneath it, how you cope, and what you want your therapist to help with. A line or a paragraph each, whatever comes.
  2. Add anything else, if you want to: more in writing, or a voice note. This step is optional.
  3. Pay for your Wobble. It then goes to the qualified UK therapists who are free to pick it up.
  4. A qualified UK therapist picks up your Wobble, reads or listens, and records you a personal video, usually within hours.
  5. Watch it when you like. Keep it. Send another whenever something else comes up, or never.

Every response follows the Wobble response framework, a structured framework built for short, practical, single-response support, so the video always covers the same three things: what the therapist understood, practical guidance you can use that day, and one clear next step. If a voice note is sent, software transcribes it so the therapist can read it; the response itself is always recorded by a human.

How fast is within hours?

A Wobble sent on a weekday is usually answered within hours. Response times run during therapist working hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm UK time. A Wobble sent in the evening, at the weekend or on a bank holiday is answered by 5pm the next working day at the latest, and usually sooner. You get an email and, in the app, a notification the moment your video is ready.

That makes Wobble slower than a helpline and faster than almost anything else with a qualified therapist on the other end. For the next hour, Samaritans (116 123) and Shout (text 85258) are free and open day and night. For a therapist's reply today or tomorrow morning, this is the route.

Who replies?

A qualified, registered UK therapist, every time. Wobble therapists hold a recognised diploma or degree-level qualification, are registered with a UK professional body (BACP, NCPS, UKCP or BABCP, or a statutory regulator such as the HCPC), carry professional indemnity insurance and are based in the UK. Wobble checks the documents rather than the claim, then every therapist completes structured training and records responses to mock cases that a clinical lead scores before they see a real Wobble. After that, the person who receives each response is asked to score it, and Wobble's clinical lead reviews live Wobbles and the responses that go back on an ongoing basis.

Wobble's Clinical Lead is James Penney, NCPS Accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. Your reply is never written or voiced by AI.

No subscription unless you choose one, and a plan can be stopped. For comparison, most private therapy in the UK costs £40 to £70 an hour.

Can I use Wobble regularly?

Yes, and many people do. Send a Wobble whenever something comes up: a hard week, a decision you are stuck on, the same worry coming back. There is no limit and nothing to book. Used most weeks, it becomes a regular check-in with a qualified therapist, each reply covering what they understood, practical guidance and one next step, so you build a run of small steps rather than waiting for one big fix.

The plans are priced for regular use: two Wobbles a month for £19.99, or four for £34.99, which is £8.75 each. Wobble is not a replacement for ongoing therapy, and if your therapist thinks regular therapy would help you more, they will say so in the video.

Who is it for, and who is it not for?

Wobble is for people who are struggling but not in crisis, and especially for people who would never book a course of therapy: too expensive, too slow, or too much to commit to. Use it for one hard patch, or make it a regular check-in: a Wobble a week or a fortnight has the rhythm of therapy without the appointment, and the plans are priced for it.

  • Not for emergencies. If you are in immediate danger or having thoughts of harming yourself, call 999 or go to A&E, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option, or call Samaritans on 116 123.
  • Not a diagnosis. Therapists describe what they understand and what might help; they do not diagnose, and the video will say if a GP is the right next step.
  • Not for people who need to sit with a therapist for an hour at a time. That is ongoing therapy, and if it is what you need, the therapist will say so and point you to the right route.

Questions people ask

  • Is the reply from a real person or from AI?

A real person. Every Wobble response is recorded by a qualified, registered UK therapist. Software transcribes voice notes so the therapist can read them, but the video you receive is made by a human, never generated by AI.

  • Can I send a Wobble at 2am?

Yes. You can send one at any hour. It is answered during therapist working hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, so a 2am Wobble is usually with you later that morning, and by 5pm the next working day at the latest.

  • Do I have to be on camera or talk to anyone live?

No. You type your answers, and can add a voice note if you like; nobody sees you and there is no live call. The therapist records the video, you watch it when you like.

  • Is Wobble a crisis service?

No. If you are in immediate danger or having thoughts of harming yourself, call 999 or go to A&E, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option, or call Samaritans on 116 123, free, 24 hours a day.

  • Can I use Wobble regularly?

Yes. Send a Wobble whenever something comes up: a hard week, a decision you are stuck on, or the same worry coming back. There is no limit and nothing to book. If you want support most weeks, a plan works out cheaper: 2 Wobbles a month for £19.99, or 4 for £34.99. Wobble is not a replacement for ongoing therapy, and if your therapist thinks regular therapy would help you more, they will tell you.
