How it works

How does Wobble work?

Wobble works in three steps: you answer seven short questions about what is going on, and add anything else in writing or by voice note if you want; a qualified, registered UK therapist reads or listens; and they record you a personal video, usually within hours, covering what they understood, practical guidance and one clear next step. No appointment, no live call, nothing to commit to. Use it once, or make it a regular check-in. Your first Wobble is £9.99, usually £14.99.

Send your first Wobble

Your first Wobble is £9.99, usually £14.99. A personal video from a qualified UK therapist, usually within hours.

Not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 999 or the Samaritans on 116 123.

What do I send?

Answers to seven short questions, one screen at a time, in your own words: what is on your mind; how it is affecting your day to day, such as sleep, work, relationships or mood; one moment in the last seven days when it felt hardest; what you are putting off or avoiding because of it; the exact thought that feels hardest when you are struggling; what you usually do to cope; and what you would most like your therapist to help with. A line or a paragraph each, whatever comes. Then an optional step for anything else the questions did not cover, in writing or as a voice note. Those seven answers are what the therapist works from, so the video is about your situation rather than a category.

Wobble is for people who are struggling but not in crisis, and a short safety screening sits in the same flow. A Wobble that mentions risk may be held for personal review by Wobble's clinical lead before it reaches a therapist; if so, you are told on screen and by email, and if Wobble cannot support what you have sent you are refunded in full and given crisis support details. For an emergency, a video reply within hours is the wrong tool: the right ones are 999, NHS 111 with the mental health option, and Samaritans on 116 123.

What is in the video?

Three things, every time. First, what the therapist understood from what you said, in their words, so you know you were heard properly. Second, practical guidance: how they would think about the situation, what tends to help, what to watch for. Third, one clear next step you can take that day. Every response follows the Wobble response framework, a structured framework built for short, practical, single-response support, so the shape is the same whichever therapist replies.

Where it is appropriate the video also signposts: to your GP if something needs medical assessment, to NHS Talking Therapies or a private therapist if ongoing therapy would help you more, or to urgent services if anything in what you wrote needs them. Therapists do not diagnose, and they say so.

Who records the video?

A qualified, registered UK therapist, never an AI. Wobble therapists hold a recognised diploma or degree-level qualification, are registered with a UK professional body (BACP, NCPS, UKCP or BABCP, or a statutory regulator such as the HCPC), carry professional indemnity insurance and are based in the UK. Wobble checks the documents rather than the claim, every therapist completes structured training and a clinical audition on mock cases before they see a real Wobble, and the person who receives each response is asked to score it. Wobble's clinical lead also reviews live Wobbles and the responses that go back on an ongoing basis. Wobble's Clinical Lead is James Penney, NCPS Accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.

Software transcribes a voice note so the therapist can read it, and may summarise what you sent to brief them. The video itself is recorded by the therapist. If you want the detail on vetting and the company behind the service, it is on the is-Wobble-legitimate page linked below.

How long does it take?

Usually within hours on a weekday. Response times run during therapist working hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm UK time. A Wobble sent in the evening, at the weekend or on a bank holiday is answered by 5pm the next working day at the latest, and usually sooner. If a response is not delivered within a reasonable time beyond the target, you get a full refund without asking.

Can I use Wobble regularly?

Yes, and many people do. Send a Wobble whenever something comes up: a hard week, a decision you are stuck on, the same worry coming back. Used most weeks, it becomes a regular check-in with a qualified therapist, a run of small next steps rather than one big fix. The plans are priced for it: two Wobbles a month for £19.99, or four for £34.99, which is £8.75 each. Wobble is not a replacement for ongoing therapy, and if your therapist thinks regular therapy would help you more, they will say so.

Can I use Wobble alongside regular therapy?

Yes. Wobble works alongside a course of therapy as well as before one. Things do not wait for your next appointment: a hard day, a conversation that went badly, a decision you have to make before you next see your therapist. A Wobble gives you a qualified therapist's view on that one thing, usually within hours, and you can take what the video says into your next appointment. It does not replace your therapist or the work you are doing together; it covers the days in between. The same goes while you wait for NHS Talking Therapies to start: stay on the list, and send a Wobble in the meantime.

Where do I use it?

On the website at getwobble.co.uk, or in the Wobble app for iPhone and Android. The same account works in both, and a Wobble sent on one shows up on the other.

Questions people ask

  • Do I have to talk to anyone live?

No. You type your answers, and can add a voice note if you like; the therapist records a video, and you watch it when you like. There is no call, no appointment and nobody sees you.

  • Can I choose my therapist?

Not at present. Your Wobble goes to the qualified therapists who are free to pick it up, and whoever takes it records your response. Every one of them has passed the same checks, training and audition.

  • What if the therapist thinks I need therapy rather than a Wobble?

They will say so in the video and point you to the right route: your GP, NHS Talking Therapies, a private therapist, or urgent services if anything you wrote needs them. Wobble sits before therapy or alongside it, not instead of it.

  • Is what I send confidential?

Yes. Your Wobble is only ever seen by qualified, registered therapists who are contractually bound to keep it confidential, and by Wobble's clinical team where there is a safety concern. Get Wobbled Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ZB681991) and everything is handled under UK GDPR.

  • Is Wobble a crisis service?

No. If you are in immediate danger or having thoughts of harming yourself, call 999 or go to A&E, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option, or call Samaritans on 116 123, free, 24 hours a day.
